Article on an Internet Buyer versus Traditional Home Buyer

A study was recently conducted in the California marketplace for last year in comparing how the new Internet Buyer thinks and uses the online tools available as compared to the traditional home buyer. Interesting read. Visit this interesting article.

The more that we learn about this important internet trend forces us to adjust in a positive manor to keep...or even increase...our market positioning and share in today's marketplace.

Schools Are Now Mapped

The latest new upgrade is in the school information section attached to each listing.

Now when a visitor views a listing...and then selects the school information button...the schools are mapped for easy reference. Really cool! One can actually see the location of the nearest school...no more guessing which school is nearest the subject property.

Of course, we all know how school boundaries are drawn and that the nearest school does not necessarily mean it is the designated school for that property...but this does assist the visitor in their investigation...it makes your site more complete and a better source of information...and it just might help generate that lead for you...and then you can help them discover the home and school for them.

Lead Generating Tools

One of the primary goals that most of us have for our websites is to generate leads.

On a real estate driven website, that usually comes to us in the form of an email...from one of the lead generating forms that we have employed on our site. A GraphicalData site is a natural for this as nearly everything is built with a lead generating in mind.

However, you can create your own additional lead generating pages yourself. Since you can add a form to most any page, consider writing something that would be of interest to one of your visitors and then adding a simple form for them to contact you after the read if they would like more information.

This is a simple concept and can be developed with a buyer or seller in mind. It can be area/community information, something on agency, your area of expertise...whatever you might like. One that I have found that tends to work well is just offering a simple "relo packet" or "newcomer packet" or "get to know our area packet" or whatever you might like to call it. The more "lead generating" tools that you have on your site, the more inquiries you will have :~)

And the bonus...since you are adding new content to your website, the search engines see this, and you are rewarded accordingly.

Statistics / Analytics For Your Website

Analytics are now available for your website. Hooray!

All that a GraphicalData website user now needs to do is create an account in Google, and then sign up for Google Analytics.

This is very easy to do...just go to http://www.google.com/analytics/ and if you already have a Google account for some reason, just use it. If not just follow the steps for creating an account and you are on your way.

Once you have created an account, you can then sign up for Google Analytics. Again, just a few more steps...and you will be done!

This powerful Web-based statistics package used to cost $400/month before Google bought it and now makes it available to anyone for free.

Once signed up a small snippet of code wil be displayed. You will need to copy the account number within this script of code and insert it into the appropriate place in your admin center...which will activate it.

[NOTE: GraphicalData has provided a manual to walk you through this whole process. Go into your admin center>website>website statistics>New! Google Analytics (or view manual here). Also take note of the field where you will paste in your Google Analytics account number. Then click the "Update Analytics" button and you are good to go.]

After this process is completed, you will be able to log into your Google Analytics account from any Web browser and see up-to-the-minute real time statistics on everything you could ever want to know about your site visitors and their behavior. All kinds of charts and graphs and information.

Website statistics are highly useful if you have the ability to a) understand what they are saying about your site's ability or lack of ability to convert visitors to clients, and b) they can be used to help create a strategic plan of action.

Have fun with your new tool!
